This part of the website will cover the various technologies associated with offshore emissions in the oil and gas industry. Including the source and type of emissions and how these are monitored and reported for the purpose of meeting the environmental legislative requirements. Members will be kept fully up-to- date with all of the latest technology advancements and industry best practice.
The website will also keep members informed on emissions reduction techniques, such as carbon capture and storage (CCS), which is still very much at the research and development stage. CCS is currently high on the UK government’s agenda and is seen as a key mechanism to help industry meet future reduction targets. CCS is set to be introduced during Phase 3 of the EU ETS, and is likely to bring with it serious measurement challenges for the offshore oil and gas sector.
